Found at the heart of the beautiful village of Maiden Newton, Dorset, we are the proud occupiers of the Maiden Newton childrens centre. We play, we dance, we sing, we learn.

We know the importance of healthy body, healthy mind so we observe a healthy snack time in the morning session which consists of fruit, vegetables, a form of carbohydrate such as bread sticks, with milk or water to drink. Very often we cook food for snack time with the children, often using the vegetables they have helped to grow organically. Isn’t that just brilliant?!

We would usually visit Greenford school once a week.

We accept children from 2 years old up to school age.

All our staff are caring, experienced and qualified to high level.
We have a Post-graduate (Level 6) Early Years Professional as Manager.

Autumn 21

Since September 21 our curriculum has changed, we are rightly so putting the children as priority instead of the assessments, planning and paperwork.  This documents clarifies what the Early Years Foundation Curriculum is all about.

We have so missed our cooking, therefore we are resuming it. We picked some blackberries and made a lovely Blackberry crumble.

We are exploring books and enjoying the concepts of them throughout the week, we have looked at Kitchen disco, Owl babies and Stickman

Summer  21

We are very lucky to have some tadpoles.  We can view and celebrate the life cycle of a frog.

We have also watched caterpillars grow from eggs, we look forward to releasing the butterflies into the community.

We are growing Sunflowers, we have all planted a pot each and plan to measure them as they grow.

Art gallery board, full of lovely creative work

We have put a new floor in the outside house, and put chairs and table inside, so that the children’s imagination can be extended.

we created a construction area for the children to build and develop.

We have been busy creating a small world fantasy garden to inspire the imagination.
